Juried Sound Recording: Album
The application deadline for fiscal 2025-2026 is September 4, 2025, with new applications able to be created from July 24.
The Juried Sound Recording: Album program provides funding toward the costs of production of an original full-length sound recording.
The program is offered first as a standalone Sound Recording and this component must be completed and all expenses paid before March 31, 2026. Once the sound recording is completed, funding for all related promotional release activities (Marketing, Tour Support, Video, Showcase, and Radio Marketing) can be applied for.
Financial support is set at 50% of eligible expenses, to a maximum reimbursement of $10,000, all of which must support the sound recording.
In order to fill out a JSR: Album application in the FACTOR online system, you will first need a rated Artist Profile and Applicant Profiles.
With your Juried Sound Recording application, you must submit:
- Name of album and number of songs
- Genre
- First song release date and last song release date
- A detailed marketing plan for the proposed sound recording
- Artist bio
- MP3 Demos for two of the tracks you intend to record
- Lyrics (if applicable) to the assessment tracks
- A sound recording budget
- Total request

The application deadline for fiscal 2025-2026 is September 4, 2025, at 5:00pm ET. New applications can be created as from July 24.
Please note:
Artists may only apply to one juried program (Artist Development, JSR: Album, or JSR: Single/EP) being offered for a fiscal year (April 1-March 31).

Funding & Payments
This program offers up to $10,000 over the term of project for eligible Sound Recording. Marketing, Video, Radio Marketing, and Tour Support components to be added in a new application after completion of the Sound Recording.
Assessment Process
Assessment materials are reviewed and scored by a jury comprised of music industry professionals. The top-scoring applications are then reviewed by FACTOR staff, who assess the eligibility of the projects and costs and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors for their approval. Assessment time is up to 8 weeks from the deadline and may be affected by number of submissions and juror availability.
