The Juried Sound Recording Program assists Canadian owned and controlled labels and Canadian artists by partially financing the production costs of sound recordings or music DVDs for commercial release.
If the applicant meets FACTOR's distribution criteria, they are eligible to apply for the FACTOR Loan. FACTOR may provide a loan of up to a maximum of $25,000 not to exceed $2,500 per track which represents 75% of the total eligible budget + administrative flat fee.
If the applicant does not meet the FACTOR distribution criteria, they are eligible to apply for the Independent Loan. FACTOR may provide a loan of up to a maximum of $15,000 not to exceed $1,500 per track which represents 75% of the total eligible budget + administrative flat fee.
Funding for this program is provided by Canada's Private Radio Broadcasters and the Department of Canadian Heritage's Canada Music Fund's New Musical Works Component.
