FACTOR has cancelled the processing of all applications submitted for November’s Marketing and Promotion for Non - FACTOR Funded Sound Recordings program deadline. FACTOR has a finite amount of funding available and is therefore limited to the number of projects it can fund in all for its programs. All funds for this program are fully committed. Applicants will receive direct correspondence regarding this issue immediately.
This decision comes after the most recent FACTOR Board meeting in December. The FACTOR Board was required to re-direct funds from another program to deal with the unanticipated number of jury recommended projects. The Board of Directors has been left with no other option but to decline any further submissions to this program, this fiscal year.
Had FACTOR been aware of this situation prior to the November deadline, FACTOR would have cancelled the deadline prior to people going through the process and investing time in submitting proposals.
FACTOR recognizes that it takes time to prepare submissions and is therefore looking into possible ways we can prevent this situation from occurring again in the future.
